Love yourself enough for you time

I have to admit, I’m on a bit of a high from the my weekend workout. I’m so grateful I was able to get away and enjoy such an epic experience of mind, body and surf. As some of you know, Chad went away for a guys trip for the weekend and I had to find a sitter for the boys. But here’s the thing, I’m finally okay with that. It has taken me 6 years to get to this point but I’m finally here. I’m letting go of all the mommy guilt and control over the situation. I knew my boys were in great hands (it totally helps that our babysitter rocks) and I never stressed over them while I was gone. It was so liberating!! Don’t get me wrong, I love being a mom but being a stay at home mom is a 24/7 job with no breaks. When I have small windows of opportunity to myself, well I take them. Whether it’s a short run in the evening or a whole weekend away, I’m learning to embrace them, guilt free. And no, that doesn’t make me a bad mom, quiet the opposite. My boys get to see me take time for myself being happy and enjoying life. I come back feeling energized and ready to deal with my crazy little life.
