As I reflect on the past week, I can’t help but feel grateful and full of joy. So much has happened which is making me feel very optimistic about the future. You guys came out to my very first classes as Chocolate & Sanity and provided some great positive feedback. I seriously can’t wait to see where this journey will go, the women I will meet, the community that can be made and the lives that can be changed.

The worse that happens is I don’t finish. The weather was perfect and the excitement was in the air. Everywhere you looked people where smiling and giddy to get started.

Why Running is a Top Priority in My Life as a Mom
Hey all! I had quite the weekend learning and grooving at my course. I have a lot of exciting stuff brewing and I’m feeling really passionate about the future. Be sure to stick around, I don’t want you to miss anything.
Today on the blog, I have a good friend, Carey talking about her online running groups. She and I met a few years ago at one of her running groups and have been friends ever since. She has since moved to Costa Rica and is pursuing her passion in health and fitness. I couldn’t be more proud of her and what to take this opportunity to share her story.

As promised in Friday’s post (here) I have a few highlights from my two son’s birthday party this past weekend. The weather couldn’t have been more perfect for an outdoor party! With the temperatures going into the mid 30’s, we decided to set up two kiddie pools and the slip n’ slide to keep the kids cool. We had a total of 12 kids running around pretending to be ninjas and it was totally awesome. Here are a few pictures of the Ninjago party.

Chocolate Lava Protein Cake
Hey all! I thought I’d give you an update on my knee/calf pain. Here’s a link to my last post where I talk about it. First off I haven’t run at all in over a week and a half, which is probably the hardest part. But on the plus side it does seem to be getting better. I went for a massage last Friday which I haven’t done in years and it felt amazing. I also went for an assessment at the physiotherapist and got treated. She thinks most likely the cause is really tight muscles in my hip, quad and calf. Her prescription is to heat, stretch and foam roll daily which I have been doing. Also she gave me a few isolated exercises to do to help strengthen my glutes and knee. I even managed to go to hot yoga yesterday which really stretched it out good. I have a physio appointment today and she said we would discus when I would be able to run again. I’ve got my fingers crossed it’s soon.
