Chocolate & Sanity

Howdy Folks!

It’s been forever since I’ve written a blog post. No worries, I’m still here, things just got way too crazy around here and something had to give. As you can see a lot has changed since my last post. I got a fancy new logo and website design. I feel like it suits me much better. Thanks for sticking around and reading all my posts. You guys are the best!

Last March I was in Palm Springs for my friends Jen and Bryan’s wedding.  I’ve known both of them since high school so it was a bit of a reunion to be out there with all my friends. Jen and I went out for a run together to enjoy the sunrise and a chat one morning. It was on this run that we started to talk about the crossroads I found myself facing. I had spent the last few years focusing on my growing family but now I found myself at a place where I craving to blaze a new trail in my life. She challenged me to figure out where my passions lie and to let those to shape the next chapter of my life. This is the great thing about running buddies. It’s almost like a confessional being on a run with someone. As soon at Jen posed the question “where are you passions” I knew the answer right away. It was something I had thought a lot about but never dared to say out loud. What I really long to do was to become a fitness instructor. I wanted to train other moms and help them become happy and healthy. As a mom of 3 I knew firsthand the challenges faced by parents trying to live healthy active lifestyles. I wanted to find an easier way for moms to get active.

Now Jen has been a huge source of inspiration in my life. She was the friend who helped me train and motivated me through my first half marathon. She is someone that always seeks the best out of others. This dream seemed so out of reach for me but Jen encouraged me to start blogging and to start working towards that goal. She has helped me so much over the past year, editing posts and giving me numerous hours of support and encouragement. I wouldn’t be here without her!

Fast forward a year and I have become a certified fitness leader, ready to chase that dream. On February 15th I will officially start Chocolate & Sanity! I will run 2 week of free classes to give you a chance to come out and see what it’s all about. I envision Chocolate and Sanity becoming a community of moms that workout with their children in tow. It’s a family-friendly fitness program that gets you and your kids moving and helps you keep your sanity along the way. We will have some coloring books and small toys in the corner for the children or they can stay alongside you. Once it gets warmer outside we will take the classes to different playgrounds around the city.

If this sounds like something you’d like to try then let’s get started! You can head over to my Chocolate and Sanity Fitness page; there you will find the pricing and class descriptions. I will be starting with 2 morning classes at 9:45-10:45 at Morfit (255 Tache Ave.) and 1 evening class at 6:00-7:00 at East End Community Center (517 Pandora Ave E) with plans to potentially add another evening and afternoon class.

After the 2 week free trial you will be able to purchase class passes and register for the classes you are able to attend on Mindbody.

I have partnered with Mindbody, a business management software that does the online scheduling and online appointment bookings, to help make it as easy and functional as possible for you. To get started simply click here, create a user name and login, from there you will be able to purchase and register for classes from either your home computer or mobile device using the Mindbody app.

I hope to see you there!
